slIce plays on
a circular system consisting of 6 computer monitors that communicate via an
ethernet hub. As the visitor enters the media surface, she triggers distorted
and manipulated vinyl audio samples of Quincy Jones' title song of the television
children's cartoon show "ReBop" entitled "You have to do it
yourself".
As the visitor triggers this audio information, she also attracts video slices
towards herself. The triggered video segment is passed on to the other monitors;
hence creating a circular video movement. As the user exits the media surface,
activity returns to its previous stagnant state.
